A famous washed rind from Gloucestershire, UK
Charles Martell started farming in 1970, buying up the last remaining cows from the Gloucester breed. He originally started making classic cheeses of the region before finding an ancient recipe for a washed rind cheese from the Cistercian monks in his village. From this he created Stinking Bishop, a soft cheese washed in pear cider. Stinky and pungent, an amazing washed rind!
