In the town of Anzio, next to Rome, since 1889 Pollastrini have produced canned sardines. The fish are wild caught in the Mediterranean Sea. Sardines, named after the island of Sardinia, have little fat, loads of iodine, zinc, iron, phosphorus and acid fats that our bodies need but do not produce.
